To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children… to leave the world a better place… to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.”
– Ralph Waldo Emerson

I hail from Solapur, a small town in the southeastern part of Maharashtra state in India. Supriya Kairamkonda, M.D., near the pyramids in EgyptSince childhood, I had always dreamed of becoming a doctor and being an ambitious person by nature, I pursued my dream with all my zeal and perseverance. After finishing medical school from Krishna Institute of Medical sciences, Karad, I started working as a resident in the Neurology Department of the Jahangir Hospital. It was while working there that I came across the greatest inspiration of my life in the form of my mentor and teacher, Dr Ichaporia, Head of the Neurology Department. Since then I have always aspired to become a neurologist at his level of excellence.

It has been a long but interesting journey from there. As life took me through different paths and trails, I had the opportunity to work in different countries in the Middle East, make new friends, and also acquire my membership in the Royal College of Physicians, UK.

Apart from my work which is the greatest passion in my life, I love to travel and explore new places. I have always been attracted to the United States of America, the land of opportunity and prosperity. The opportunity to pursue my life’s long cherished dream in a reputable institution like UAMS is quite exciting. I look forward to my training in the Neurology Department of UAMS.
