Bahekar at dinnerNamaste and Greetings to All!

I am Rucha, a proud Maharashtrian; born and raised in the suburbs of Mumbai, India.  I come from a family of doctors who value Indian traditions-Millennial style.  My genetic makeup was switched to its default settings, and I attended medical school in Mumbai.

Even during my medical school years, I found myself inclined toward neurology.  Being trained as an Indian classical dancer, the fluidity of body movements and balance during graceful postures always intrigued me. The more I explored the subject, the more I was fascinated by its complexity.  Studying felt like a natural extension of my personality.  I left my hometown in the pursuit of education and came to New York where I did my electives.  I joined Brown University as an Observer and later did research at Yale University in movement disorders.  I was ecstatic and grateful when I learned I was accepted as a neurology resident at UAMS.

I am an assiduous and social person by nature.  Besides my academic interests, I find joy in every creation.  I enjoy swimming, arts and crafts and have won several awards for acting.  My dog Saheb is my prized possession; long walks with him is my stressbuster.
