Abhilash Thatikala with wifeI am Abhilash Thatikala. My friends call me Abhi. I hail from Warangal, Telangana. The city is famous for its Warangal Fort, Thousand Pillar Temple, and Ramappa Temple, which UNESCO recognizes as World Heritage sites.

I attended med school at the Osmania Medical College (OMC), Hyderabad. I became particularly interested in neurology during the early years of med school. I eventually decided to choose neurology as my future career.

In the neurology department, I had the opportunity to work with excellent faculty, trainees, and supporting staff. I got to learn neurology in a tertiary care institution catering to the entire state of Telangana. Teaching students was one of the most remarkable experiences that I had during my training.
During my neurology fellowship, I decided to move to the US for further training in neurology, and I am lucky to be matched at the UAMS neurology residency program.

I am more of an outdoor person, and I love playing football, table tennis, video games. I love traveling and exploring new places. Swimming is my favorite way to relax. I like to play chess as I find it quite challenging. I am married to an incredible woman, and she shares my love for traveling and cooking.
