I grew up in the Orange City of India, Nagpur, otherwise famous for the hottest summers in India. It is also known for the costliest gas in India and the winter capital of the richest state in India, Maharashtra. I was always attracted to details and complexities since I was a child. My first exposure to Neurology came as a real life encounter of a family member with epilepsy that made a profound impact on why I would subsequently choose that field of medicine to practice. During the final year of medical school, I got an opportunity to come to the USA as a final year medical student and learn more about the system here. My interest in neurology led me to a Research Fellow position in the Department of Neurology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. During residency interviews, I had the chance to explore the length and breadth of this country. Arkansas was much like my home state and this attracted me to UAMS. UAMS has a strong faculty taking personal interest in the education of each resident, friendly residents, and fantastic supporting staff. My interests consist of epilepsy, neurocritical care, and vascular neurology and I look forward to explore these areas during my residency. My hobbies include cricket (which I still play in Little Rock), swimming, rock climbing, and more recently cooking and photography.
