Nabeel Chauhan, MD
I was born in the city of Lahore, which is the cultural heart of Pakistan with a rich history dating back over a millennia. It is also referred to as the “City of Gardens” owing to the historic and beautiful gardens in and around the city. I graduated from Government College Lahore and attended medical school at Lahore Medical & Dental College. UAMS was a natural choice for me as my family has been in Arkansas for the last 40 years and it is like a second home for me. I worked as a research assistant and then a Postdoctoral research fellow at the Myeloma Institute for Research & Therapy at UAMS. My interest in neurology was established after my grandfather had a stroke and then later in his life developed dementia. I chose UAMS Neurology as with my experience here I found the faculty to be very supportive and friendly with a strong teaching curriculum. With UAMS being the sole university hospital, the residents are exposed to an immense spectrum of neurological conditions. In future, I wish to pursue opportunities for a fellowship in Stroke. My other interests include music especially playing guitar and I used to be a member of a rock band while in college and med school. I love playing soccer (Little Rock has an amateur league), running (little rock has beautiful tracks and trails), working out in the gym and I love to travel and explore new places.
