Eugene Achi, MD
Born in the mid-eighties, amidst the civil war in Lebanon, Eugene Achi left Lebanon and his family in his early teens seeking a promising education and a bright future in the footsteps of his uncle, an established pediatrician in the United States. He obtained a Bachelors of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Louisiana Tech University in 2006, and then moved to Little Rock to pursue a medical education at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). After completing his Doctorate of Medicine degree in 2010, he continued his residency in neurology at the same institution that nurtured him, and his brother joined him at UAMS to begin his own medical carrier.
Away from the hospital, Eugene maintains a passion for music writing and playing. He composes, performs and records his own original songs in a small home-studio and occasionally performs for friends or at wine bars or coffee shops. He is an active part of the soccer community in Little Rock and has played in four different leagues, in addition to organizing weekly pick up games for soccer amateurs. Eugene will be moving to Nashville, Tennessee for the 2014-2015 year, where he will completing a Neurophysiology fellowship. Plans beyond fellowship are still up in the air.
