Yohei Harada, MD
I was born and raised in Nagoya, a warm and humid city in Japan. Since completing a basic science research program in a neuroimmunology laboratory as a third year medical student, I have had a strong interest in the beauty of the nervous system. There was no question of selecting neurology as my future career. Following medical school, I absolutely enjoyed pursuing a neurology residency in Japan. At the same time, as I learned more, I realized how little I knew and became more curious. This interest in neurology motivated me to leave my country for further subspecialty training in a neuromuscular fellowshipin Rochester, NY.
In July 2016 I started my second residency at UAMS after completing fellowship training. I believe that pursuing neurology once more in this organized educational system will help me become a better neurologist.
I like the people, atmosphere and climate of Little Rock and find them to be similar to my hometown. I look forward to a great time here as a resident, husband and father of a little boy who will turn four when I complete this program. Life is short. I will definitely cherish every moment in Little Rock.
