Hisham Elkhider, M.D.
My name is Hisham Elkhider. I am from Sudan, a wonderful diverse country incorporating many different cultures, languages and religions. The Nile river starts in the capital, Khartoum city, when the Blue and White Nile join.
I went to medical school at the University of Khartoum, Khartoum, Sudan. I became particularly interested in neurology in the early years of medical school. I eventually decided to choose neurology as my future career.
Following medical school, I joined the Internal Medicine Residency Training Program at Hamad Medical Corporation, Doha, Qatar. A 3 years of neurology fellowship at the same institution followed. In the neurology department, I met with wonderful attending’s, trainees and supporting staff. I got to learn neurology in a large busy institution. The Hospital is affiliated to Weill Cornell, Qatar and teaching students was one of the greatest experiences that I had during my training.
Following a year of practicing as a neurologist I decided to move to the US for further training in neurology and I was lucky to match at UAMS neurology residency program. Nature is what I like most about Arkansas and Little Rock.
I like playing football, watching movies and reading. I am married and have two beautiful daughters.
