The Department of Neurology provides outstanding neurological care for people with disorders of the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves and muscles. Our dedicated multidisciplinary staff of 19 clinical faculty and 16 neurology residents provides acute and ongoing care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
We offer state-of the art treatment of stroke, seizures, dementia, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, neuromuscular diseases, neuro-critical care, brain tumors and headache. Our physicians are teachers at the only medical school and neurology residency program in the state, which keeps us on the cutting edge of medical science and the latest technologies. We also conduct basic and clinical research to understand disease mechanisms and develop new treatments, both locally initiated and in national clinical trials. These studies provide access to new therapies while advancing our knowledge of brain diseases.
We also provide a variety of specialized testing and services including electroencephalography (EEG), electromyography and nerve conduction studies (EMG/NCS), autonomic nervous system (ANS) testing, programming of deep brain stimulator (DBS) and vagus nerve stimulator (VNS) devices, and botulinum toxin injections.
We aim to be the primary resource for advanced neurological care in the State of Arkansas, the place where patients and physicians come with their most challenging problems. We welcome your inquiries and the opportunity to serve you.
